*[[ First Day of School! :) ]]*

For all hwachongians-to-be, we've finally got a taste of life at hwachong today! =D haha overall, it was better than I had expected! We're gonna have 2 WHOLE WEEKS of orientation!! Can't believe it. haha I'd better treasure these 2 weeks before it's back to studying again...

We were addressed by the college principal, Mr Ang Wee Hiong, first thing in the morning after the introduction of the staff. My first impression of him was that he's v caring and approachable. heh I just feel comforted after listening to him, partly coz his English isn't v superb, and so it didn't feel like I was suppressed by high levels of formality (which would probably be felt more strongly in RJ? ok not sure). One word I love to hear him say is "family" coz it would sound like "fAAAmily". haha so amusing...but quite cool eh! So after welcoming us to the hwa chong fAAAmily, he started bringing up various issues such as friendship, integrity, acceptance of successes and failures, passion and compassion, etc. which I think applies very strongly to everyone's lives... think it was a great introduction! and of course there was the sensitive issue of BGR which everyone laughed at... hurhur. =p

This was followed by 2 academic briefings touching on the various subject courses offered in Hwa Chong. Except for the SSP (Science Special Programme), the content of the rest of the briefings were either irrelevant or have already been covered back in NY. I've been hesitating to take the selection test tomorrow coz I feel like I don't wanna pile up any stress on myself on the 2nd day of school. But I think I'll probably feel really guilty if I don't try. yeah my OGmate and the teacher who introduced the SSP to us also told me to just give it a shot since I do have a passion for science. hm. yup. Decided that I'll just go for it after all.

hmm, after all the serious stuff, the rest of the day was FUN! haha we had the introduction of the 32nd students' council (The student council gave a pretty interesting and humorous slideshow, featuring mainly photos and videos of the lives of the student councillors at HCI college...) and finally got into our OGs for ice breakers (we played double wacko!), mass dances, and song and cheer sessions! My OG (14!) isn't extremely enthusiatic, but at least we're loud when we cheer! =D Hope we bond more over the next 2 days (or rather on Thurs only coz Wed is filled with selection tests) before we have to split up into our CT groups! =( so sad. my impression of my OG has been very positive! heh. people there are quite easy to speak to.

Well I'm glad to have met some of my ex-classmates (whether in sec sch or pri sch) and made some new friends today!! =D

Ex-classmates:
Zhi Tao: first p6 ex-classmate that I spoke to...whoa he's really tall... made me feel so short! =( heh anyway he's probably taking PCME and trying out for SSP!

Sarah Soon: Saw her in the auditorium among the RGS girls...I'm so heartbroken that she doesn't recognise me! I mean, ok, the last time I saw her was p3. haha 8 years ago after she transferred outta Ai Tong to NYPS! (But I still remember her okay!)

Ang Yi-En: aiyo why are you so shy...haha. or perhaps it's because we didn't really have the chance to talk... heh.

Jeremy Ong: hee. glad that you took the initiative to speak to me...coz the last few times I saw you, I just felt so weird and awkward trying to talk to ya. =x hmm. haha maybe we can go home together nxt time, like we did in p1-4 on that green bus. haha..I wonder if you still recall the childish events of primary 1 when we had somewhat like a 'marriage' on the bus!!? and the singing of stupid, lame songs together on the way home which we got from the pets coursebook or some worksheets that our old Eng teacher, Mdm Ong (? if i rmbr correctly) gave out. lol.

New Friends:
Timothy Yap: First person I spoke to in my OG! I'm really grateful that you turned out to be so outgoing. heh I was pretty freaked out when I realised that I was sitting beside a guy (when we first assembled into our OGs). haha but I definitely felt better after you helped tear the forms for indication of shirt sizes (which wasn't exactly very skilfully torn haha =p) and offered me a pen (but unfortunately I already had one) and wrote my OG no. on my form for me -_-" lol I'm so amused! But I'm grateful all the same =D Another thing I'll not forget is the garfield smile you gave me when you tried unsuccessfully to maintain that straight face after I told you I was in choir. AHEM. what does that mean ar!! haha but thanks for making me feel comfortable all the way till mass dance =p

Sin Hwee: My mass dance partner lol! Quite awkward at the beginning eh... I'm so sorry that I messed up half the dance, but thanks for messing up the other half! hahahah. Had a great time laughing and getting tangled... but I must say that we did a pretty gd job still. WELL DONE! =D haha... It was nice talking to you too... =) and btw i think you've a great voice! haha. so nice listening to you sing during the song session... too bad you're already in HC CO dizi, you'll prob stand a high chance to be a tenor in choir!

Lynnette: hey! only got to speak to you at the end of the day =( hope to get to know you better over the next few days and that we'll get into the same class! I like your enthusiasm! (haha quoted from 'corpse bride'. er. ok out of point. =x) hmm and I think you're v capable eh - in 2 CCAs and still able to achieve such low points - 2 or 3?! haha if I'm crazy enough, I may join huang2 cheng2 with you and some others from our OG... Although it'll surely be a splendid experience, but I don't know if I can cope. Was thinking of joining Interact Club or taking up a sports CCA. heh. =D but if you join huang2 cheng2 w/o me anyway, I'll still support YOU! =)

Erm I didn't really get the chance to speak to the rest of the OG, except for Yi Hang and Eunice whom I already know... oh ya I met Gene's cousin, Jia Yun! hee! a cute innocent-looking lil' girl...! Don't know her v well yet. But from what I observe, she's quite smiley =)
