YAY. Today is a Saturday, and I practically slacked the entire day. I need a break terribly.
Haha, thanks Ernest for sending me the clear recording of the songs sung in the second half of VJC Concert =) I didn't really enjoy the songs though because many of them were of the same genre and it got quite boring after a while. Well, just a personal opinion i guess. The sound quality was brilliant though (as usual). Oh, for one of the songs called "Pamugan", it was, apparently, about a hunter hunting for birds. There was a SCREAM halfway through the song that almost got me into trouble with my father, since I was listening to it at midnight. Anyway, the song sounded more like a gruesome murder than a hunting trip. Heh.
This morning, I had to drag myself out of bed to practice for my youth forum subcomm dance at school, but at least I got to wake up later than usual at 9am. Haha. I really love the songs that we're using for our dance! Well done Ya Wen for cutting the music so beautifully! =) Yeah, we're meeting up on Vesak Day again to practice.
In the afternoon, I had to turn up at Ametech Building from 2.30pm to 4pm for the A*Star Interview + Photoshoot. It was a totally unexpected but fun experience. I was actually looking forward to speaking to the scholar that I was attached to, but instead, they told me that our schedules could not fit, and so we could only keep in contact by email. Anyway, they would probably organise an outing (lunch + movie) for all the scholars + attached students so that we can interact among ourselves. The scholar I'm attached to is Xiao Ying - She appeared in the newspapers on 8th May. yup, I'm very impressed with her achievements - she's currently doing her pHD! Anyway, the Ametech Building appeared very dominating and unfamiliar. It seemed as if I just entered a very old and unwelcoming industrial site, and that strangeness made my skin crawl. Fortunately I had my mother to accompany me. haha, I know I sound like a little kid but there was no one around at all. Yeah, thereafter we took a very old and huge lift up to the 5th floor where we entered the room where A Pixels Photography company was situated. My mother and I were led to Studio 4. The first thing that they asked me to do was to sit on a chair in front of the table which was filled with make-up sets. Soon the make-up artist started to apply "light make-up" to prepare me for the photoshoot. I felt so weird. I've seen artists being made-up on TV too, but I couldn't believe that I was actually at a photoshoot! During the photoshoot, they took about 40 shots of me in various poses holding a camera. They wanted to feature youths in a funky fashion u see. haha. For me, they wanted me to appear as if I was standing on a vertical glasspiece - so the main part of the photo was actually my feet - or rather, the soles of my shoes (which were very old and black because I wore them to OBS into the murky sea water). haha. =x Oh well, it was really fun.. It's probably a once-in-a-lifetime experience I guess. haha, as if anyone would call me up for a photoshoot again. The Editorial Consultant told me that I was "a natural" and the people there kept saying that I had a nice smile and was tall (although I'm just of average height [161cm] in school? Weird. Or maybe I just "looked" tall. =S Whatever.) The interview with the Editorial Consultant was very personal, and it touched on my everyday life and interests, my family, etc. I was prepared to talk about my experiences in the sabbaticals at school (Environmental science + Advanaced Life Sciences) and the IMCB attachment i went for, but I never got a chance to! And that was because they never even touched on the topic of promoting life sciences! Maybe I'll get a chance to say whatever I want in the email with Xiao Ying or during the tentative outing. Bleaugh.
Anyway, I just had a marathon conversation with Bosty, Ernest, YiTing. Our combined conversations on MSN are so useless. We always end up talking about unsubstantial topics and the words/phrases/expressions that keep appearing are such as "haha", "lalala", "Bosty is HIGH!", "oO"... Nvm..We have to learn to appreciate such simple conversations in life. hahaha, ya right. Such rubbish in life. Well sometimes it helps to boost my happiness, especially when I'm feeling really stressed out since Bosty is always laughing like a drunk mad cow. YiTing and I have never met Bosty and Ernest before. In fact, we're just friend's friend's friends... So I'm very glad and grateful that we get along well.....
On Friday night, Ya Wen, Lim Mian, Elizabeth, Katrina, LiLin, JingWei, and I went to Tiong Bahru Plaza to watch "Kingdom Of Heaven". However, the cinema was very strict about the exact birthdates, and so those who have not turned 16 were not allowed to enter the cinema. We then wanted to watch Star Wars, but the tickets were fully booked! So all we could do was to have a candle-lit dinner together at an open restaurant. =) Goodness, the service was really impressive. The waiters and waitresses were very well-mannered and the restaurant did not have service charge!!! We gave them a 20cents tip in the end. (haha, but this was only because there was some confusion over the bill and an extra 20cents were being forked out. And since everyone was too shy to accept that 20cents, we decided to give them a tipping. =p) haha, after that, we walked around in the arcade but didn't play. Goodness, I could have almost gone deaf in there. Anyway we rushed off to have the best ice-cream in the world - Venezia ice-cream!! It was the first time that I had ever tried it.... and I must tell u that I literally drooled just looking at the tubs of different flavoured ice-cream from heaven! In the end we got Hazelnut, Dark Chocolate, Cookies and Cream and Lemon flavours. I had a time of my life eating every scoop of ice-cream man.. I never tasted such good ice-cream in a very long time! I'm so deprived... ='( haha... just joking! (Better not let my parents read this.)
Whoa, I've been blogging for an hour already. Too much to say. Okay, time to go to bed. Gdnight. And thank you everyone who have made my life so special and eventful. =)
